Katie Straus, a Berlin-based abstract artist originally from the US, uses painting as a way to process, connect, and communicate with the world. Her work, resembling journal entries of memories and moods, involves creating multiple layers of color and texture, which are then cut back to reveal representational elements, often featuring plants and flowers. Her art aims to explore connections, community, and the sense of home, with varying degrees of perspective that shift between distant views and intimate details.
